Pastors, Apostles, Bishops, Priests and Rabbis, Where Did You Hide Your Moral Clarity?

LBJ's Great Unjust Society: The Tax Code Undermines Churches and Synagogues

There are some great moral leaders in our nation, but there are some who have SOLD-OUT!  Judas Iscariot betrayed Jesus for a sum of 30 pieces of silver.  How many of our moral leaders have sold out on their members to the federal government for a sum of the tax-exempt (501c3) status?

For too long and too often Pastors, Apostles, Bishops, Priests and Rabbis have not spoken out strongly enough about public issues for fear of “jeopardizing” the Church’s tax-exempt (501c3) status.

The truth is, in practice, it is almost impossible for Pastors, Apostles, Bishops, Priests and Rabbis to face a real risk of losing their tax status over standing up against political issues which robs the Church of its ability to teach its members to get involved in the electoral process.  Why do I say this?  The majority of Americans (76% to 81%) identify themselves as Christians, yet, less than 42% vote, but, are the first to complain about the state of our nation.

In fact, I have been doing the research, and I am not aware of a single case in the United States of a Church losing its tax status over attempting to influence decisions made by officials in the government,

Now, there is no guarantee that the Pastors, Apostles, Bishops, Priests and Rabbis will be freed from harassment.

As a result, most Pastors Apostles, Bishops, Priests and Rabbis are not teaching their members to resist evil and to identify the source of evil.  When Satan shows his ugly head and is booed from a Party’s platform, and Pastors still find reasons to make excuses for them….”IT’s ALL ABOUT THE MONEY.

Pastors Apostles, Bishops, Priests and Rabbis, whatever the cost, the price of freedom is never too high for those for whom freedom and life are synonymous. If you choose to be free, to live as an independent individual, it will be the most costly, difficult, and risky thing you ever do.

The most valuable thing in life, the most precious of all possessions, cannot be achieved or acquired cheaply or easily. If you want something cheap, easy, and safe, settle it in your mind, individual liberty is the one thing you will never have; but if it is ease, security, and safety you seek, it is not freedom you want anyway.

When Pastors, Apostles, Bishops, Priests and Rabbis ‘grow a couple’ and take a stand for righteousness whatever the cost, they can lead the revolution for in our nations.
But, "The price of freedom is eternal vigilance," ~Thomas Jefferson.

Today, the family system of life is a major issue in the Devil's warfare against God's design for a fulfilling human relationship. When Pastors teach their members to resist evil and to identify the source of evil, we will see fewer and fewer of our young men being incarcerated, young girls are overwhelmingly becoming impregnated.  Young people are searching for a father figure.

Most of them have access to their mothers while those fathers found it easier to stop being fathers. Once our federal government imposed its will on our Pastors, Apostles, Bishops, Priests and Rabbis through the tax-exempt (501c3) status, moral leadership declined.

God is not pleased, and America is beginning to feel the wrath as a result of this lack of leadership.

"But you must remember, my fellow-citizens, that eternal vigilance by the people is the price of liberty, and that you must pay the price if you wish to secure the blessing. It behooves you, therefore, to be watchful in your States as well as in the Federal Government." -- Andrew Jackson, Farewell Address, March 4, 1837

For my Patriot friends who love their ‘guns and bible,’ talk to your Pastors, Apostles, Bishops, Priests or Rabbis and tell them that it is the common fate of the apathetic to see their rights become the laughingstock of the active, and the ones laughing encompasses only 24 to 19% of the population. But, they work unceasingly. They lose, reload and regroup!

As Zoe said, "There's gonna be some Pastors cursing in tongues at him"  I say, "do your cursing, and put some skin in this game for our nation...starting TODAY!" A church’s right to speak out on controversial issues, which may cross the line into prohibited political activity, is protected by the First Amendment, anyway.

Has Chick-fil-A Pledged to Stop Giving Money to Anti-gay Groups?

The Commercial Appeal's September 19, 2012 article entitled: "Chick-fil-A has Pledged to Stop Giving Money to Anti-gay Groups," is deceiving

The company has been quoted as saying, it will “leave the policy debate over same-sex marriage to the government and political arena.”

The fact of the matter is, Chick-fil-A donates to the WinShape foundations.  The WinShape Foundation in turn donates to various organizations at their discretion.

The WinShape Foundation was created by Chick-fil-A founder, S. Truett Cathy, and his wife, Jeannette, in 1982. The simple vision then, as it is today, was to strengthen families and bring people closer to God and each other

The policies of Chick Fil A have always been to treat everyone with dignity but not to PROMOTE homosexual tendencies and that is just where it stands today.

Flinn and Harris Pushing for Special Privileges for Gays, Lesbians, Transgenders and Bi-Sexuals!

Memphis City Councilmen, Harris and Flinn are pushing for additional privileges for the gay, lesbian, transgender and bi-sexual community.  It has been contended that once special privileges are granted a group will be considered a special class with special privileges.

Special classes have contributed to higher costs to taxpayers in terms of litigation and additional health benefits due to the special class status. There are currently laws on the books which will offer protection, but this request may change the city charter.

Today, the Memphis City Council amended a proposed nondiscrimination ordinance to include sexual orientation but is putting off a final vote while legal experts study it.

A vote for a  30-day delay, proposed by Flinn, came after the city attorney and the council's attorney raised questions about the legality of the amendment and whether it would require a voter referendum.

Jonathan Cole with Tennessee Equality Project,  Pastor Steve Gaines, FACTN Director of Community Relations, Paul Houghland were among the major speakers before the City Council members concerning this ordinance being discussed to provide special privileges the lesbian, gay, transgender, and bisexual (LGBT) community on the city's non-discrimination policy.

This was not a new debate, but that does not mean it is any less contentious. In 2010, an effort failed to add lesbians, gays, transgender, and bisexuals to the city's non-discrimination ordinance.

According to Councilman Boyd, the Council members were blind sighted by Harris' proposal. It appears that Councilman Harris did not provide a forewarning of this ordinance to the other members before the media announced it.  This was considered a back-door effort to force the amendment onto the final reading by Harris and Flinn.

Posting on Facebook, sending emails, etc. are all good.  But, to protect one's land, one must get involved and present a united front.

Experience teaches us that it is much easier to prevent an enemy from posting themselves than it is to dislodge them after they have got possession.  ~George Washington

What Good is Health Insurance Without a Doctor!

Nearly 70 percent of doctors believe that long wait times will plague emergency rooms. A full 83 percent of physicians foresee increased wait times for primary care appointments.  It has already started, and this is just the beginning.

My Facebook friend was recently diagnosed with cancer on August 13, 2012.  She was poor, over fifty and had been living in her car off and on since March of this year. Occasionally someone would have mercy upon her and would allow her to stay with them for approximately 3 weeks at a time.  You can imagine her stress level was extremely high due to the uncertainty.

On August 12, she called me to say that she had a doctor’s appointment.  After sitting in the waiting room for six hours, she was finally seen for approximately 10 minutes and was told to go to the hospital the following morning where she was diagnosed with cancer and three weeks later she was dead.

Did she die due to a lack of access to healthcare?  No.  The few doctors and nurses available bent over backwards to help her and to make her as comfortable as humanly possible.

The problem was the shortage of doctors and nurses available for the number of patients needing care.   The fact of the matter is, physicians foresee in their future  a decrease in income coupled with an increased work load, a toxic combination of new regulations and taxes plus millions of newly insured individuals swelling their patient rosters.

The Association of American Medical Colleges estimates that in 2015 the country will have 62,900 fewer doctors than needed. And that number will more than double by 2025, as the expansion of insurance coverage and the aging of baby boomers drive up demand for care. Even without the health care law, the shortfall of doctors in 2025 would still exceed 100,000. Health experts, including many who support the law, say there is little that the government or the medical profession will be able to do to close the gap by 2014, when the law begins extending coverage to about 30 million Americans. It typically takes a decade to train a doctor.

For the next generation of senior citizens, finding a doctor will be more difficult and waiting times for doctor appointments are likely to be longer. The American Association of Medical Colleges projects a shortage of 124,000 doctors by 2025.”  Obamacare does nothing to reverse this worrisome trend, instead making it worse.

The Patient Protection Affordable Care Act (PPACA)!

On June 28, 2012, the U.S. Supreme Court rendered its decision.  Call it Hillarycare or Obamacare, either way; it is the law of the land and many portions of the PPACA have already been quietly enacted.  Could that account for the longer than normal waits to see a doctor?

In a move that stunned the nation, the vote was 5-4 to uphold the insurance mandate and the rest of the Affordable Care Act.  The vote had come down to a 4-4 vote, giving Chief Justice John Roberts the deciding vote.  Although known as a conservative, Roberts voted that the insurance mandate was illegal ONLY because it was tied to a tax.  He ruled that since the penalty for not being insured was to be collected by the I.R.S., that it amounted to a tax and that Congress has the legal right to levy taxes.

In his ruling, Robert’s also stated that the requirement to force someone to purchase a product or pay a penalty does violate the Commerce Clause of the U.S. Constitution.  Because he also ruled that the insurance mandate was a tax and not a penalty, that it no longer violated the Commerce Clause and as such was legal.

However, by Roberts’ very ruling, he actually made the insurance mandate illegal and subject to further litigation and possibly still being thrown out.

According to the Origination Clause of the U.S. Constitution, all tax or revenue generating legislation must begin in the U.S. House of Representatives.  The Affordable Care Act was first introduced by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid in the U.S. Senate and not the House.  Therefore, the insurance mandate tax violates the Origination Clause of the U.S. Constitution and must be struck down.

The second issue is that since the U.S. Senate cannot initiate any tax or revenue generating legislation, the penalty for not purchasing health insurance cannot be a tax according to the Origination Clause.  If it cannot be a tax, then it has to be a penalty and thus we go back to a violation of the Commerce Clause which Chief Justice Roberts said the insurance mandate would be.

It Ain't over, yet!

QE3: The Definition of Insanity Returns - Still No Jobs!

QE3: The definition of insanity returns
By Herman Cain

Einstein may have been a genius, but it doesn’t take a genius to see the wisdom of one of his most famous sayings: Doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting a different result, is the definition of insanity.

That’s how you know that the Obama Administration and the Federal Reserve have lost it. The Fed announced last week that it plans another round of “quantitative easing,” which means keeping interest rates artificially low and printing a lot more money (technically through the buying of mortgage-backed securities - $40 billion a month’s worth).

This is known as QE3, and it follows the highly unsuccessful QE1 and QE2, but it is different in one respect: QE3 is forever. Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke says he will put no sunset date on this plan. The Fed will keep doing it until the economy improves, no matter how long it takes.

Bernanke’s announcement got immediate results, too, although not the type he wanted. The credit rating agency Egan-Jones immediately responded to QE3 by downgrading America’s credit rating from AA to AA-. Explaining their decision, Egan-Jones said what anyone should be able to figure out: All this pump-priming is not going to raise America’s gross domestic product, but what it will do is deplete consumer purchasing power.

Remember last year when Standard & Poors downgraded the United States from AAA to AA+? Democrats and the media insisted that Standard & Poors had taken this action solely because Tea Party Republicans had demanded budget cuts as a condition for raising the debt ceiling, thus introducing a short-term risk of default on the debt.

In fact, Standard & Poors cited the dysfunction of the policymaking process in general, and rightly so. Rating agencies don’t care how you reduce your debt – cut spending, raise taxes – they just want you to do it. What they saw is what anyone with common sense can see. Our fiscal situation is so out of control that we have to borrow money just to pay the interest on the money we’ve already borrowed. When the debt ceiling showdown resulted in no serious action on the deficit, Standard & Poors had seen enough. Even so, Democrats and their media allies did everything they could to blame the Tea Party – as if the people who want put a stop to out-of-control debt are the ones upsetting the credit agencies.

So then, how will they find a way to blame the Tea Party for Egan-Jones’s latest downgrade of the U.S., which is its second this year? The first downgrade resulted from the utter failure of Congress and the White House to deal with the debt. This time, Egan-Jones recognizes that devaluing our currency will do nothing to make the situation better. The only way to do that, after all, is to achieve robust and sustained economic growth.

So why won’t QE3 do that? In buying up all those mortgage-backed securities, they’ll certainly pump a lot of capital into financial institutions. The banks will turn around and lend it, and Main Street will suddenly be cash flush, right?

Wrong. That was the theory behind QE1 and QE2, as well. Why didn’t it work? Because of a little thing called Dodd-Frank, the “reform” through which Democrats presumed to crack down on big banks. Dodd-Frank has introduced so many new regulations and restrictions, big banks are scared to death to make risky loans of any kind. So sure, there’s going to be money, but they’re only going to lend it to the safest loan applicants – people who would almost certainly have gotten loans even without the pump-priming.

So we devalue our currency for nothing, and we’re going to do it endlessly!

I don’t know how we maintain a credit rating as good as AA- when we maintain policies like this. These people have no idea what they’re doing.

Why I Vote Republican at the Federal Level

The Democrat Party  v  Republican Party.

Before I go any further, let me say that due to our two party system, as a Christian, I have no choice but to follow the laws and to declare a party affiliation. I cannot vote as an Independent because an Independent only muddles the electoral water. The fact of the matter is, if I voted as an Independent I would be voting against the candidate I should be voting FOR.

For the educated, upwardly mobile, former Democrat, it is easier to declare yourself as an Independent. This is done in an effort to remove oneself from the Democratic Party, yet, not join that 'racist' Republican Party.

I grew up under the spiritual influence of my father. He was a WWII veteran and a pastor in the Memphis community for over 40 years.  The principles I was taught align themselves closer to the Republican Party's platform. I am a Frederick Douglass Republican. Any political party which would 'Boo' God out of their platform is not the Party for me.  If you don't believe me, watch it with your own eyes.  God was forced 'in,' against the will of the party members!

The Republican Party is not perfect.  It has a LOT of warts. But I plan to get involved and to hold my elected officials' feet to the fire and to let them know they must give an account of their votes which affects our lives.

I understand that it takes courage to defy the 'group think' mentality, but even the bible speaks against a person who can not choose.  That person is as effective as lukewarm water.  According to Revelations 3:16, "But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth!"

HAVE THE GUTS TO ACTUALLY TAKE A STANCE AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE, PLEASE!

Our nation’s top historians reveal that the Democratic Party gave us the Ku Klux Klan, Black Codes, Jim Crow Laws and other repressive legislation which resulted in the multitude of murders, lynchings, mutilations, and intimidation's (of thousands of black and white Republicans). On the issue of slavery: historians say the Democrats gave their lives to expand it, the Republicans gave their lives to ban it.

The Democrats:
  • Democrats fought to expand slavery while Republicans fought to end it.
  • Democrats passed those discriminatory Black Codes and Jim Crow laws.
  • Democrats supported and passed the Missouri Compromise to protect slavery.
  • Democrats supported and passed the Kansas Nebraska Act to expand slavery.
  • Democrats supported and backed the Dred Scott Decision.
  • Democrats opposed educating blacks and murdered our teachers.
  • Democrats fought against anti-lynching laws.
  • Democrat Senator Robert Byrd of West Virginia, is well known for having been a “Kleagle” in the Ku Klux Klan.
  • Democrat Senator Robert Byrd of West Virginia, personally filibustered the Civil Rights Act of 1964 for 14 straight hours to keep it from passage.
  • Democrats passed the Repeal Act of 1894 that overturned civil right laws enacted by Republicans.
  • Democrats declared that they would rather vote for a “yellow dog” than vote for a Republican, because the Republican Party was known as the party for blacks.
  • Democrat President Woodrow Wilson, reintroduced segregation throughout the federal government immediately upon taking office in 1913.
  • Democrat President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s first appointment to the Supreme Court was a life member of the Ku Klux Klan, Sen. Hugo Black, Democrat of Alabama.
  • Democrat President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s choice for vice president in 1944 was Harry Truman, who had joined the Ku Klux Klan in Kansas City in 1922.
  • Democrat President Franklin D. Roosevelt resisted Republican efforts to pass a federal law against lynching.
  • Democrat President Franklin D. Roosevelt opposed integration of the armed forces.
  • Democrat Senators Sam Ervin, Albert Gore, Sr. and Robert Byrd were the chief opponents of the 1964 Civil Rights Act.
  • Democrats supported and backed Judge John Ferguson in the case of Plessy v Ferguson.
  • Democrats supported the School Board of Topeka Kansas in the case of Brown v The Board of Education of Topeka Kansas.
  • Democrat public safety commissioner Eugene “Bull” Connor, in Birmingham, Ala., unleashed vicious dogs and turned fire hoses on black civil rights demonstrators.
  • Democrats were who Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the other protesters were fighting.
  • Democrat Georgia Governor Lester Maddox “brandished an ax hammer to prevent blacks from patronizing his restaurant.
  • Democrat Governor George Wallace stood in front of the Alabama schoolhouse in 1963, declaring there would be segregation forever.
  • Democrat Arkansas Governor Faubus tried to prevent desegregation of Little Rock public schools.
  • Democrat Senator John F. Kennedy voted against the 1957 Civil rights Act.
  • Democrat President John F. Kennedy opposed the 1963 March on Washington by Dr. King.
  • Democrat President John F. Kennedy, had Dr. King wiretapped and investigated by the FBI.
  • Democrat President Bill Clinton’s mentor was U.S. Senator J. William Fulbright, an Arkansas Democrat and a supporter of racial segregation.
  • Southern Democrats opposed desegregation and integration.

Democrats opposed:
  1. The Emancipation Proclamation
  2. The 13th Amendment
  3. The 14th Amendment
  4. The 15th Amendment
  5. The Reconstruction Act of 1867
  6. The Civil Rights of 1866
  7. The Enforcement Act of 1870
  8. The Forced Act of 1871
  9. The Ku Klux Klan Act of 1871
  10. The Civil Rights Act of 1875
  11. The Freeman Bureau
  12. The Civil Rights Act of 1957
  13. The Civil Rights Act of 1960
  14. The United State Civil Rights Commission

Republicans gave strong bi-partisan support and sponsorship for the following
legislation:
The Republicans:
  • Republicans enacted civil rights laws in the 1950’s and 1960’s, over the objection of Democrats.
  • Republicans founded the HBCU’s (Historical Black College’s and Universities) and started the NAACP to counter the racist practices of the Democrats.
  • Republicans pushed through much of the ground-breaking civil rights legislation in Congress.
  • Republicans fought slavery and amended the Constitution to grant blacks freedom, citizenship and the right to vote.
  • Republicans pushed through much of the groundbreaking civil rights legislation from the 1860s through the 1960s.
  • Republican President Dwight Eisenhower sent troops into the South to desegregate the schools.
  • Republican President Eisenhower appointed Chief Justice Earl Warren to the Supreme Court, which resulted in the 1954 Brown vs. Board of Education decision.
  • Republican Senator Everett Dirksen from Illinois, not Democrat President Lyndon Johnson, was the one who pushed through the civil rights laws of the 1960’s.
  • Republican Senator Everett Dirksen from Illinois wrote the language for the 1965 Voting Rights Act.
  • Republican Senator Everett Dirksen from Illinois also crafted the language for the Civil Rights Act of 1968 which prohibited discrimination in housing.
  • Republican and black American, A. Phillip Randolph, organized the 1963 March by Dr. King on Washington.

The 1964 Civil Rights Act Roll Call Vote: In the House, only 64 percent of the Democrats (153 yes, 91 no), but 80 percent of the Republicans (136 yes, 35 no), voted for it. In the Senate, while only 68 percent of the Democrats endorsed the bill (46 yes, 21 no), 82 percent of the Republicans voted to enact it (27 yes, 6 no).

Thaddeus Stevens, a Radical Republican that introduced legislation to give African Americans the so-called 40 acres and a mule and Democrats overwhelmingly voted against the bill.

During the Senate debates on the Ku Klux Klan Act of 1871, it was revealed that members of the Democratic Party formed many terrorist organizations like the Ku Klux Klan to murder and intimidate African Americans voters. The Ku Klux Klan Act was a bill introduced by a Republican Congress to stop Klan Activities.

History reveals that Democrats lynched, burned, mutilated and murdered thousands of blacks and completely destroyed entire towns and communities occupied by middle class Blacks, including Rosewood, Florida, the Greenwood District in Tulsa Oklahoma, and Wilmington, North Carolina to name a few.

History reveals that it was Abolitionists and Radical Republicans such as Henry L. Morehouse and General Oliver Howard that started many of the traditional Black colleges, while Democrats fought to keep them closed. Many of our traditional Black colleges are named after white Republicans.

After exclusively giving the Democrats their votes for the past 25 years, the average African American cannot point to one piece of civil rights legislation sponsored solely by the Democratic Party that was specifically designed to eradicate the unique problems that African Americans face today.

As of 2004, the Democrat Party (the oldest political party in America) has never elected a black man to the United States Senate, the Republicans have elected three.

'ARMAGEDDON!'

America has entered the Global War on Terrorism with little understanding of the enemy it faces. Yet, the enemy will not be ignored! The United States is in big…big…trouble!

The attacks on September 11, 2012, to the U.S. embassy in Cairo, Egypt, and U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, may have been well planned in  Benghazi

In Benghazi, rocket-propelled grenades and small arms were fired at the consulate and set on fire.  The protesters killed and raped the visiting U.S. Ambassador to Libya, Christopher Stevens.  During the protests, Foreign Service Information Management Officer Sean Smith, American private security employee Glen Doherty, former U.S. Navy SEAL Tyrone Woods, and ten Libyan policemen were killed; and two others were injured.

The attack followed a violent protest at the U.S. Embassy in Cairo over the low-budget anti-Muslim film made in the United States, titled, 'Innocence of Muslims,' which was considered blasphemous by many Muslims. The film that sparked the protests is a 14-minute trailer that mocks Mohammed as a womanizer, child molester and ruthless killer.  Shocking!

The film is not even in the theaters, yet! The film remains on YouTube, as of today!

It initially appeared that the assault on the Benghazi consulate was another spontaneous response. But senior U.S. officials and Middle East analysts raised questions about the motivation for the Benghazi attack, noting that it involved the use of a rocket-propelled grenade and followed an al-Qaeda call to avenge the death of a senior Libyan member of the terrorist network.

UNDERSTAND OUR ENEMY.  Our enemy is serious.  Our enemy is ready for the end of life!  Are you?

Al-Qaeda has played a leading role in the larger movement of global jihad, splintering factions of militant Islamism intent on establishing its vision of strict Islamic rule in the Muslim world through armed action.

Global jihadis have spent more than 40 years refining their philosophy, gaining experience, building their organization, and developing plans to reestablish what they see as the only true Islamic state on earth.

Choose wisely on November 6, 2012.  America is their target.  We need strength in leadership for AMERICA!  For that to happen, we need you to do your part in protecting our nation through your involvement in the electoral process.

The White House is sending mixed and confused signals to the Middle East.  First, we continue to send our dollars to countries that do not behave like our allies.  Mitt Romney condemned the attacks, then was sharply criticized by the White House. Former Ambassador to the UN, John Bolton says that a proper US response would have been to rebuke the leaders of these countries for their failure to protect US diplomats, and to threaten them with a cutoff of aid should such attacks ever happen again.

VOTE...and then get others to VOTE...VOTE!

HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN JANUARY 3, 2007?

REMEMBER JANUARY 3rd, 2007....THE DAY THE DEMOCRATS TOOK OVER!"

Rep. Nancy Pelosi  (D-Calif.) was elected America's first female speaker of the House  in a raucous, bipartisan celebration of a historic breakthrough, and hours later she presided over passage of the broadest ethics and lobbying revision since the Watergate era.

Democrats took control of the House and Senate after 12 years of nearly unbroken Republican rule, with resolute calls for bipartisan comity and a pledge to move quickly on an agenda of health-care, homeland security, education and energy proposals. Sen. Harry M. Reid  (D-Nev.), the soft-spoken son of a hard-rock miner, took the helm of the Senate, after a closed-door session in the Capitol's stately Old Senate  Chamber.

Some people have short memories…..so here is a quick reminder.

At the time:
The DOW Jones closed at 12,621.77
The GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5%
The Unemployment rate was 4.7%

George Bush's Economic policies SET A RECORD of 52 STRAIGHT MONTHS of JOB GROWTH

Remember that on October 9, 2007, 11 months before our “economic crisis” occurred (that was actually created), the Dow hit its highest point ever, closing at 14,164.53 and reaching 14,198.10 intra-day level 2 days later. Unemployment was steady at 4.7%. But things were already being put in place to create the havoc we have all been experiencing since then. And it all started, as this email explains, on January 3, 2007.

Democrats Influence on the End of the Bush's Administration
This tells the story of why Bush was so “bad” at the end of his term.

The day the Democrats took over was not January 22nd 2009, it was actually January 3rd 2007, which was the day the Democrats took over the House of Representatives and the Senate, at the very start of the 110th Congress.

The Democrat Party controlled a majority in both chambers for the first time since the end of the 103rd Congress in 1995.

For those who are listening to the liberals propagating the fallacy that everything is "Bush's Fault", think about this: January 3rd, 2007 was the day the Democrats took over the Senate and the Congress.

Remember the day...

January 3rd, 2007 was the day that Barney Frank took over the House Financial Services Committee and Chris Dodd took over the Senate Banking Committee. The economic meltdown that happened 15 months later was in what part of the economy? BANKING AND FINANCIAL SERVICES!

Unemployment... to this CRISIS by (among MANY other things) dumping 5-6 TRILLION Dollars of toxic loans on the economy from YOUR Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac FIASCOES!

Bush asked Congress 17 TIMES to stop Fannie & Freddie - starting in 2001 because it was financially risky for the US economy.

And who took the THIRD highest pay-off from Fannie Mae AND Freddie Mac? Senator Obama. And who fought against reform of Fannie and Freddie? President Obama and the Democrat Congress.

So when someone tries to blame Bush. REMEMBER JANUARY 3rd, 2007....THE DAY THE  DEMOCRATS TOOK OVER!"

Furthermore, the Democrats controlled the budget process for 2008 & 2009 as well as 2010 & 2011.

In that first year, they had to contend with George Bush, which caused them to compromise on spending, when Bush somewhat belatedly got tough on spending increases.

For 2009 though, Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid bypassed George Bush entirely, passing continuing resolutions to keep government running until President Barack Obama could take office. At that time, they passed the $410 billion dollar omnibus bill to complete the 2009 budgets.

And where was Senator Barack Obama during this time? He was a member of that very Congress that passed all of these massive spending bills, and he signed the omnibus bill as President to complete 2009.

If the Democrats inherited any deficit, it was the 2007 deficit, the last of the Republican budgets. That deficit was the lowest in five years, and the fourth straight decline in deficit spending. After that, Democrats in Congress took control of spending, and that includes Senator Barack Obama, who voted for the budgets.

If President Obama inherited anything, he inherited it from himself and the Democratic controlled 110 Congress. In a nutshell, what President Obama is saying is, "I inherited a deficit that I voted for and then I voted to expand that deficit four-fold since January 20th, 2009."

Too bad, ACLU! The Bible's back in school

Churches band together for model program that has court approval

Drew Zahn is a former pastor who cut his editing teeth as a member of the award-winning staff of Leadership, Christianity Today's professional journal for church leaders. He is the editor of seven books, including Movie-Based Illustrations for Preaching & Teaching, which sparked his ongoing love affair with film and his weekly WND column, "Popcorn and a (world)view."

Once upon a time in America, most public school children – including several future presidents – studied, discussed and even learned to read from the Bible.

A pair of landmark Supreme Court cases in the 1960s, however, put the fear of litigation into school principals, and a new era in education began, where advocates for the “separation of church and state” used the courts to push the Bible out of classrooms.

This foundational divide in U.S. history was only highlighted by Barack Obama’s controversial remark in 2006, “Whatever we once were, we are no longer a Christian nation.”
One county in Tennessee, however, has found a way to keep biblical instruction in its public schools – with the blessing of a court decision, the support of the community and in keeping with a tradition that began in 1922.

On Sept. 16, a group of 11 Hamilton County, Tenn., churches – including Baptists, Presbyterians, Methodists, Assemblies of God and more – will meet for the “Hixson Gathering,” a prayer service and fund-raiser for a unique program of elective, for-credit, Bible history classes taught at 20 schools in the county, including the Hixson Middle and High Schools.

With the help of an organization called Bible in the Schools, area residents, like those at the Hixson Gathering, are able to reimburse the Hamilton County Department of Education for certified Bible teachers – hired at no cost to the taxpayers – while dodging the legal tactics of groups like the American Civil Liberties Union and Americans United for the Separation of Church and State.

“The federal courts have affirmed that teaching the Bible in our public schools is a constitutionally protected freedom,” Bible in the Schools asserts. “[And] with all the concern over character, no program is better positioned to touch more students quantitatively or qualitatively.”

“I would love to say ‘thank you’ to the Hixson community for helping us to offer such a wonderful program in our schools,” Hixson Middle School Principal LeAngela Rogers told Tennessee’s Chattanoogan. “The teen years are a time of unprecedented growth socially, physically, emotionally and morally. Bible history classes contribute not only to their academic achievement, but also to character education, as students develop into their own person.”

Ron Phillips, pastor of Abba’s House, one of the churches participating in the joint effort, told the newspaper, “President Andrew Jackson said the Bible ‘is the rock on which our Republic rests.’ No one is truly educated without a knowledge of Scripture.”

The program, which Bible in the Schools told WND it hopes can serve as a model for communities all across the U.S., began in 1922, when local resident Dr. J. Park McCallie first proposed a unique plan in which private citizens in the community would pay for teachers – who would, in turn, be subject to the board of education in scholarship and discipline – to instruct students in the history and language of the Bible. Doctrinal questions, however, would be directed back to the students’ pastors or priests.

The program was accepted and practiced until a court decision in 1979 temporarily stopped it.

McCallie’s idea, somewhat modified, took off again. This year, 20 middle and high schools across Hamilton County will offer Bible history electives to 14,692 students as part of the program.

Bible in the Schools reports that where the study of the Bible is offered in Hamilton County today, nearly 70 percent of all students will elect to take one or more Bible courses before graduating.

“We want our program to be a model for how it can be done,” explained Diane Cropp, development director for Bible in the Schools. “We set up our program, not that we are able to help others actually implement it right now, but what we have done is available for others to see and copy, and we would love to see that happen.”

Cropp told WND the organization’s already extensive website is being built up to clearly illustrate how local churches and citizens have made it work in Hamilton County. She said the organization is also hoping to make the curriculum it is helping to draft available online “so that someone else doesn’t have to start from scratch.”

According to the Bible in the Schools website, several unique factors enable its plan for Bible courses to be offered and taught constitutionally and in accordance with the U.S. District Court’s decision:
  • Teachers must be employed and supervised by the county Department of Education.
  • Teachers must be certified and have a minimum of 12 semester hours of Bible courses as part of their college education.
  • The schools must be reimbursed in full for the teachers’ salaries and benefits by private citizens; there is no cost to the taxpayer.
  • Bible courses are elective, offered to middle and senior high students only, and credit is given for their study.
  • No religious proselytizing, sectarianism nor denominationalism is permitted in class. Students with doctrinal questions are encouraged to seek out a pastor or rabbi
  • The curriculum is court approved.
And even through Hamilton County has had to blaze the trail in developing a unique plan for courses, teacher certification, private funding and so forth, Bible in the Schools asserts it’s critical to quality education.

“So much of the art, music, history, law, culture and moral standards of Western civilization [is] based on the Bible, that to be culturally literate, a truly educated American requires biblical knowledge,” the organization asserts. “When the schools of a nation fail adequately to transmit the literate national language and culture, the unity and effectiveness of the nation will necessarily decline.”

Other efforts to teach the Bible in public school
As Chuck Norris pointed out in a previous WND column, hundreds of school districts and communities across the nation have been looking for a plan like Hamilton County’s to offer classes on biblical history and literacy to public school students.

Some have petitioned local governments; others have sought reform through state legislatures or curriculum boards.

As Norris also pointed out, however, there are also several local and national organizations pushing back, seeking further restrictions on teaching Bible courses in schools.
Norris encouraged readers to consider supporting or even joining a group like the National Council on Bible Curriculum in Public Schools.

“Unknown to most, it’s our legal and our constitutional right to be taught the Bible in public schools,” Norris wrote. “I want to help you get a course on it offered in your school district, too.

“Anyone who has studied early American history knows that the Bible has always been embedded throughout our culture, from classrooms to congressional halls,” he continued. “So, what’s stopping you from being the instrument for implementing biblical education in your local school.

5 Reasons There Are So Few Black Americans In The Republican Party

Although the US Latino population has grown (Latinos now outnumber African Americans), more often than not, more blacks take their right to vote very seriously because they have had ancestors to fight for that right.  I have worked the polls and have seen Black voters brave bad weather and long lines in order to cast their votes. So, we must ask the question, why would the party of Lincoln allow themselves to unquestionably vote for a Party whose platform includes a rejection of God.

The Democrat National Convention ran into a stumbling block when a motion by former Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland to insert the words "God" and "Jerusalem" back into the Democratic Party's platform after the platform committee passed the original version omitting the words required a voice vote in the party's convention hall.

Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, who was running the convention at the time, asked for three separate voice votes on the amendment that restored a mention of God. On the 3rd vote, Villaigosa ruled, against the will of the majority, that the “Ayes” had won—by a two-thirds majority.

In spite of the Democrat Party's platform, how is it that the party of Lincoln, a party that led the way in opposing slavery, Jim Crow laws, lynching, the KKK, poll taxes, led the way on integration and voting rights for black Americans, and percentage wise, voted for the 1964 Civil Rights Act in greater numbers than Democrats is now only getting about 10% of the black vote? Democrats say racism, but any objective observer would quickly discard that explanation given the significant number of popular black Republicans. If even a large percentage of Republicans were racist, certainly Allen West, Herman Cain, Clarence Thomas, Michael Steele, Tim Scott, Mia Love, Condi Rice, Thomas Sowell, Walter Williams, Star Parker, and Larry Elder couldn't exist, much less be popular with conservatives. Additionally, although Republicans don't support Affirmative Action, very few black Americans actually benefit from it and many are harmed as well.

So, why are Republicans doing so poorly with black Americans?

1) Economics: Black Americans are suffering economically compared to the rest of the country. "In 2009, the average net worth for white households was $113,149 and $5,700 for black households." 14.1% of black Americans are unemployed compared to 7.4 percent of whites and "black households’ median annual income fell" more than twice as much over the last two years as white Americans.

Since black Americans have been monolithically voting for the Democratic Party for 40 years, those numbers are actually a terrific argument for voting Republican.

Unfortunately, as a practical matter, it doesn't work that way.

People who are doing poorly economically tend to welcome any short term help they can get, even if the increased dependence on the government ultimately makes it more likely that they'll remain mired in poverty. Combine that with the fact that black Americans are dramatically over-represented amongst government workers (11.6% of the population vs. almost 20% of the government work force) and there are strong short term incentives for many black Americans to stay in the Democratic Party even if they'd ultimately benefit more from adopting a more conservative philosophy.

2) The skin color of the speakers: One of the great ironies of the race debate in America is that Republicans have internalized Martin Luther King's famous saying, "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character," while most black Americans have rejected it. This creates a bit of a Catch-22 for Republicans.

Black Americans are much more likely to listen and consider what black Republicans have to say, but there just aren't a lot of black Republicans to say it. This is a problem that's slowly, but surely being corrected as more and more black Americans are rising to prominence within the GOP, but we're just not there yet.

3) Racism culture: Even black Americans who are extremely prosperous and have never been significantly harmed by racism in their lives feel compelled to talk about America as if Democrats like George Wallace and Bull Connor were still running wild. There are three reasons for that.

A) It's at the core of the Democrats’ political strategy in dealing with black Americans. No matter how poorly served black Americans are by the Democrats, they won't listen to what Republicans have to say with an open mind if they're falsely convinced we hate them.

B) If you say that racism is no longer a serious problem for black Americans, then there still has to be some sort of explanation given for why black Americans aren't doing that well compared to white Americans.

Many black Americans fear that other Americans might conclude that the old school Democratic racists were right and they are inferior. This is why pointing out that racism isn't a serious impediment for black Americans today can almost come across like a slap, as opposed to a plain statement of obvious fact.

C) Shouting "racism" is easy and it doesn't require you to do anything other than complain. Tackling other issues that are hurting black Americans like children being born out of wedlock and out of control crime in the inner cities is really hard.

Most Republicans do not consider racism to be a significant impediment to success anymore and that puts us up against a deeply ingrained, shared cultural belief with black Americans.

4) Outreach: That last item is the biggest factor in the GOP's mediocre, almost but not quite, non-existent outreach to black Americans. White Republicans assume what they say will be de facto ignored because of their race at best or they'll be called a racist no matter what they say at worst.

Moreover, most Republicans have an almost instinctive dislike of identity politics that keeps us from creating a conservative NAACP and hiring our own Jesse Jacksons and Al Sharptons to push the conservative message to black Americans. So, the solution to this problem has been to do very little outreach and hope that black Americans will just drift into the Republican Party on their own. Judging by the number of black Americans voting for the GOP, this strategy isn't working and isn't likely to work in the foreseeable future.

5) Issues: The Republican Party is on the same page as most black Americans on "abortion, gay marriage, and being friendly to Christianity.

Many black Americans also agree with the conservative stance on illegal immigration, school choice, being tough on crime, and supporting entrepreneurs." We have to do a better job of working with black Americans in areas where our interests coincide instead of expecting them to come to us. We also have to start using conservative principles to address issues that disproportionately impact black Americans.

We need to find ways to implement enterprise zones and micro-loans to help black Americans in inner cities. It's also a disgrace that any American, in any neighborhood, has to worry about getting shot in his yard or drug dealers selling on the corner where his kids go to school. We're the law and order party. We should be effectively tackling that the way Rudy Giuliani did in New York. It's not enough for Republicans to say, "Look at the places we agree."

As John Maxwell once said, "People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care." We have to show black Americans we care, not just with words, but by rolling up our sleeves and tackling the issues the Democrat Party has been ignoring for decades. decades Liberals see a black person at the Republican National Convention and they laugh and laugh at the hilarity!  Most liberals believe deep down in their bleeding hearts that conservatives are evil, bigoted racists! Yet, there's no racist rhetoric coming from the stage at the Republican National Convention.

Percentage-wise, there may be more minorities speaking at the Republican National Convention and not only in the audience like at the Democratic National Convention.

The fact of the matter is this, the media will go out of its way to avoid showing black faces at Republican events, yet, focus  on black faces at Democratic events to make it appear that Blacks are not welcome at Republican events.

I can tell you from personal experience, we are out there, we are being ignored by the liberal media, but will not back down.
